A chart is a starting point
An introduction to the language of Sun, Moon and rising.
Begin with the vocabulary
In Western astrology, the Sun is commonly associated with identity, the Moon with emotional habits and the rising sign with first approaches. These are symbolic associations, not measured traits or a reliable assessment of a person.
Look for examples, not labels
Before reading an interpretation, describe a moment when you felt confident, a place where you felt comfortable and a situation that was new to you. Specific memories give you something to compare with a broad description.
The question of time
The rising sign relates to the eastern horizon at birth. A calculation requires the actual location and an accurate time, including the time-zone rule in effect on that date. For an English birthplace, do not assume that today’s GMT or summer-time setting applied then.
Keep the margins open
You can enjoy a chart without accepting every interpretation. Mark the parts that invite a useful question and leave the rest. This journal does not calculate charts or provide personal predictions.
